The Denim series part 1.

The first one out in my denim series is a post about the loose fit. This particular pair comes from Goldsign. (Click on the link to shop the Goldsign Mr. Right Jeans).

These straight leg boyfriend trousers have a loose fit and a worn in look – in other words they are the perfect pair for a relaxed daytime look. I normally wear size 26 all across the denim brands and so these run true to size. Going one size up would mean wearing them lower on the hips which adds character but I personally like a bit of mid section support which these give.

(I threw this image in to show how much fun we had shooting denim and wooly knits in the peak of the October heat / humidity combo :D)

Because of the very casual nature of the boyfriend denim I like wearing mine with high heels. As I always say: dressing well is about the act of balance and so a daytime slip on heel makes the relaxed fit still look like a part of a thought through ensemble.

Flats are an option if you keep them on the dressy side – in other words stay clear of the Birks and the Havaianas. Printed silk loafers however still kept this look intact.

These jeans could do with a bit more distressing and Youtube is brimming with tutorials about that – use your imagination here. When it comes to denim care it’s normally advised to wash your denim as little as possible; a statement I agree with somewhat when talking about black washes etc. Here the wear and tear however is welcome as it adds to the overall look so I’d say wash away! / XXX
