A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to participate in something that was nothing short of dream-come-true. As a stylist, woman and an art / culture lover I have nothing but admiration for the house of Chanel.
I was given an opportunity to style and model the latest cruise 2013-2014 collection results of which were seen in Savoir Flair magazine.
I find that when it comes to Chanel, the numerous street style snaps of celebs wearing a quilted jumbo are a treat for the eye but it’s just as fascinating to look at the fashion heritage of the brand. Can you think of a more alluring fashion persona than Gabrielle Chanel?
The cruise collection was showcased in Singapore before making it’s way down to Dubai and the 123rd floor of the iconic Burj Khalifa.
The collection is inspired by the 1920’s Singapore with strong colonial influences and goes in the palette of broken whites, blue, pink and black – all shaped in contemporary silhouettes.
In the first outfit I chose to wear a long belted sweater as a dress, with two toned pumps shaped as a nautical knot and an abundance of pearls. The sweater itself was a replica of one worn by Gabrielle herself and the Deauville beachside resort.
