The Cut by Wolfgang Puck – the brunch.

When it comes to Friday brunches in Dubai they are divided in two types of vastly different experiences. One is an alcohol fueled extravaganza where food plays a very little role. I am never seen at one of those. The other is a classy and a proud showcase of the impressive restaurant scene that Dubai is home to. I am seen at those as often as I can.

If you scroll down the blog you’ll see I have written about The Cut and Chef Raymond before. It was refreshing to see however that even though it’s been almost a year since my last visit the quality of food and service has’t changed the slightest.

In Dubai  we are lucky to have celebrity chef endorsed venues pop up every month. They tend to be grand for the first month or so but quickly loose their edge and commitment to quality before the ink on the departure boarding pass of the namesake celeb chef has dried.

The highlights of the brunch?

  • The steaks (as anticipated seeing as The Cut takes great pride in their selection and preparation method of those);
  • The deserts;
  • The majestic views (make sure to enjoy the outdoors terrace now that the weather is mild again).
  • The Bloody Mary cart. Best one in town.

The Kooples

I have already stated on Instagram that when I think women always divide themselves in shoe people and bag people. I am shoe people.

As far as red heels go I already have a few pairs but liked the pony skin finish and the lady bug pattern. The heel height is walkable too!

They come from the ubercool French The Kooples (in Dubai available at the Dubai Mall). X

Ferrari

GQ magazine once wrote an article called: “”What’s the fuss about Ferrari”‘ (referring to a trip to Maranello in Italy where the car is manufactured). Anyhow; the article starts with the following words: ”People stare at Ferraris”….

I won’t even try to bore with technical details about the car; after all I am not a car blogger and merely a girl who loves beautiful things. (Although in case the previous sentence makes me sound a bit flakey I do need to defend my honor by stating that I have a pilots license).

Nonetheless: what I was aiming to say here is that when it comes to the test-drive all I cared about was that my outfit would match the car. In true fashion blogger style.

And people did stare. At the end of the day I was driving one of the sexiest cars on the road. See that’s the thing about luxury items. Your attitude transcends with them and suddenly you feel slightly more empowered and a lot more sexy.

I availed the Ferrari California T test drive opportunity for a mere 8 hours but it sure left me wanting more. X

Armani Exchange

Untitled-1

I read once that Anna Dello Russo said that if your clothes are comfortable they’re no longer fashion. Whilst I have nothing on the authority that is Anna I can’t level with her here. A lot of creativity goes into keeping relaxed outfits look stylized, perhaps even more than if you opt for a show stopping mini combined with bold structural (read painful) heels. Now by no means am I against dressing up; it’s just that per necessity, in my day to day life I have to 1. move freely; 2. work long hours; 3. respect the culture of the UAE and 4. protect myself from the desert heat whilst looking like someone who works in fashion.

On that note – I recently visited the Armani Exchange store at the Dubai Mall and found myself pleasantly surprised to how much of a revamp the brand has undergone. Screaming logos and shiny faux leathers were nowhere to be found; instead the brand focuses on quality tailoring, muted tones and pieces with a timeless relaxed fit.

On my list of must haves this season is the chambray wide trouser / top combo. When worn with just a white sneaker they feel like a ”grown up pajamas”. They don’t crease excessively either which was a pleasant surprise.

A beige fitted blazer (whilst sounding like a Kardashian staple) is ridiculously versatile and will be perfect for when the winter season sweeps over the region. In the photo above I wore it with black pencil trousers and a simple white tee but I am yet to wear it over a white maxi dress. Tres tres chic.

Last but not least – another wide leg fit, this time in grey suit material that looked nothing but pure class when worn with a loud metallic pointy toe heel. Basic but not basic – I am 100 percent behind that motto. / XXX

It’s time for part 3 in the denim edit and I am head – over – marble – heels in love with these One Teaspoon Bluebird distressed skinny crops. (I thought that I would also give you a peek into my neighbourhood and home office; I am a proud resident of The Kite Beach which is Dubai’s equivalent of LA’s Venice Beach).

Now to the most exciting part – in collaboration with ShopBop I am happy to give away a whooping 1500 AED voucher! All you need to do is to post an outfit post and hashtag #ShopBopStyle. At the end of October I will pick one winner! Exciting times! / XXX
